I need to be straightened out with this. I've had my heads in the shop fo a week now and am concerned about the lifters collapsing and giving me an incorrect cold valve adjustment when I reinstall the rockers. I didn't think to soak them in oil so they my have leaked down some right? If I got a old distributer from a junk yard and ground off the gear and spun it would that pump them back up? I used the search engine but find no clear info. Maybe I am stressing over nothing but some input would be great! Thanks Pete (the gear head wannabe)
You don't need oil in your lifters. Old wives tale
The spring in the lifter is all you need. When you adjust them, use a method other than one that allows you to adjust more than 1 valve at a time. Do it right once and you won't have to mess with them again.
