Default Front Y pipe

Greetings,
I'm looking to get rid of my 2 pre-cats on my 89 C-4. Has anyone purchased the front Y - pipe from Exotic Muscle, TPIS or Corvette Central
or any other supplier? Any recommendations or comments? Thanks - Ken

One of my first mods. Bolted up nicely and freed up some HP by eliminating my clogs cats. I think I got mine from Corvette Central or one of the other mags.

TPIS says eliminating the pre cats will free up about 10 hp.

I replaced my y pipe with a dyno max
I purchased Ecklers. It went on without
any problems and does away with
the precats.

What are you doing with your old front Y with Cats? I may need them to pass California Smog *****

When you remplace the front Y also install a new Random Tech. 3-stage cat for optimum effect. This can be had from TPIS for about $225.

I had an exhaust shop cut out pre cats and weld in new pipe. In and out in less than 30 min.

I just took a old piece of 1/2 iron pipe bent it up and busted the pre-cats out and put the pipe back on.

A select few vendors offer a mandrel bent pipe, while most don't.

Short of LT headers, I think the best option in an L98 is a 2.5" mandrel bent pipe.
