If I recall correctly I went about 13.30 when I still had my 2.59s. Its really not that bad of a rear in an L98. I think my 60' time was around 1.80 or so with drag radials.

I went a 13.63 with street tires and hooker headers through the stock cat convertor and mufflers. Also a very few minor bolt on's. My car ran worse this past weekend with the 3.07s

My best times are in my sig with some bolt-ons and stock cam, heads and headers.

Last Sat. at Englishtown I was still down on power and ran low 13.4s at around 100mph with 1.89sec short times.

I have a true dual exhaust system with no cats and borla mufflers. I also have a cut lit with K&N and removed Air pump and frisbee. My best time is in my sig. This was on street tires and 2.59's with my A4.

1.89? Goodyears or drag radials? That's pretty good!

cuisinartvette, yes it was on a new set of GY Eagle Ultra HP Plus, stock 17" size tires at 29-30psi.

All morning & after noon the track was very tight and gave a dead hook every time. Early in the evening we had 3 successive oil-downs around sunset and the track went away, as did my good short times.

here is my best timeslip from last year and it was in spring. fall racing season i was fighting codes and the car was down on power.

Current Mods when this run was made:
K&N open air box, MAF descreened, TB Bypassed, 160* T-Stat, Accel Super Coil, 12* degree advance timing, TPiS Long Tube Headers, !Air, !EGR, and dumps off the rear Y pipe. Hayden Tranny cooler. Stock 1600 rpm stall, 2.59 rear gear on 275/40/17" BF GoodYear F1 D3 285/40/17" at 18 psi.

added a few mods since then and should go a hair faster

i'm gonna keep the D 36 with the 2.59 gears until it breaks. next up is a 388 stroker with 3200 stall and some juice with a progressive controller down the road so i can come out of the hole easy with a small 30 shot and in 3 seconds or so be at the full 150

I'm starting to like 2.59s compared to my 3.07. I bet you all have better gas economy and do high speed cruises at a lower RPM. 80 mph @ 2000 rpms sounds better than my 70 mph @ 2000 rpms.

I managed a 12.4 with my LT1. It was weird, I ended the runs just before I hit the revlimiter in second gear. I've got a 3.45 now with a higher stall converter, launching is harder, but those 60' times went from a 2.0 to a 1.7X if I launch right on street tires.

Default 1995 ET with stock 2.59 Third member...

I ran a 13.995 with stock 2.59 rear in the 95 LT-1 we got. There nice milage gears but they are not for drag racing...Changing to 3.55 cuts about .5 second of our ET with just gears. Pretty Amazing...

i find it amazing with our L-98 that the E.T. isn't bad.....13.18@105 or so.......but we never seem to trap high, i guess that is the low chp, and the high torque that does that.

my friend has a bone stock 02 SS that traps in at 13.2@108.5 with a 1.99 60 foot. no pun at all. the LS-X motors are unbeatable when it comes to making power.

that is why if i race a LS-1, It has to be from a dead stop or i will get spanked pretty hard.

is your friend an M6 6 speed car? if so thats why. manuals don't eat up as much HP as auto's do. plus with 4 more u-joints that eats up even more.

if i made power upto 5800 rpm in 5800 rpm in 2nd gear i'm at 101 mph.

come on 388 roller stroker with my LT1 intake
