My Master Clyl. is DOA and I need a new one. Is the stock
replacement the best, or is there and upgrade?( I don't want
to reuse or rebuild the old one)
Decided to go with a GM part. I tried to order from GMPartsDirect, but found a better price with Fred Beans (they're also a forum sponsor). Talked to a guy named Jeremy in the parts dept, he was excellent.
Oh... just FYI: fred Beans has customer service and that other place, well, doesn't. Just so you know...

You don't need it, youre stock cylinder has enough displacement.
But definitely put in a DRM bias spring. When you put those C5 calipers on your vette, you screwed the bias even worse to the front than GM designed it to begin with. The new spring will get you more of your rear brakes back.
Putting on larger displacement front calipers without compensating with bias to the rear will actually increase your braking distance over properly working stock brakes.

I have the DRM spring now and I will transfer it to the
new master.

Yeah, but not that bad when you consider that the retail on it is $581.31... and that doesn't even include the fluid reservoir!!!
You can find them cheaper, but I went with the GM part because I only want to do this once!!!!
Oh and BTW.... it will cost you $348.78 from GMPartsDirect with shipping. And, if you have a problem, you are basically on your own - no customer servioce to speak of (unless you call email customer service. You can't actually call and talk to anyone). Ask me how I know sometime
