I get in to back her out for a wash and it turned over a bunch of times and never hit a lick! something has been going on lately it hardly ever does it but every now and then it will turn over more times than normal to start up but this time it won't hit a lick...
I tried 4 times without any luck I posted awhile back about every now and then it turning over more than normal to start up someone mentioned a bad fuel injector..
whenever it doesn't turn over more than normal it fires right up without missing a beat then like 1 outta 20 times it would act funny but now it just won't start.
Guesses? Well I'd put a fuel pressure guage on the Schrader valve the next time it acts up. You may have a fuel problem like pump going out. Also check for spark at several of the plugs to be sure you have fire.
With your symptoms, it sounds like you fuel pump is dying. That's why I suggested to check your fuel pressure when this happens again. If it is your pump, it will probably leave you stranded one of these days.
A car with an opti that won't start after a wash? What are the odds? I'd say a little basic trouble shooting is in order, here. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge, as suggested above, and a timing light. At least you can break it down to one, of two MAJOR systems.
If the fuel pressues and volume tests prove to be valid, you might want to take a look at the posts on your batery terminal.. are they corroded ?? Also inspect the spit in the wire when one pos cable goes to the starter and the other one goes to the altenator. Our 95 had an intermittant problem like yours and It ended up being a dead cell in the battery because it wasnt driven enough(surface charge from not being drawn on enough). I suggest Optima Red-Top batteries and Battery Tenders for corvette thats dont get driven much, this way your car wont go into ful charge mode as soon as you start it.

RACE ON!!!
No, I was going to back it out to wash it. Mines a 95 the opti is supposed to be much better on the 95 and 96 cars the opti isn't the problem.
atleast I hope it's not!
I'm kinda thinkin the fuel pump might be going bad like ittlfly suggested

For all who have posted thanks for the tips all seem like something it could actually be tomorrow I'll just buy a new battery the one now is over 2 years old anyway, then I'll do the pressure test and go from there.
Your initial post said it turned over, but wouldn't start. That means the problem isn't with the battery. Two years is NOT old for a battery. You COULD follow my suggestion and narrow it down to a fuel or an ignition problem.
