6-spd shifter boot removal

Anyone know how to remove the rubber shifter boot directly under the leather one on a 90 6-spd? I've removed the four chrome nuts and as far as I can tell, there are some kind of rivets still holding it down.

I've had mine off before, (92) if memory serves me there is some sort of sealer on the bottom of the rubber boot. It will come off after you take loose the 4 chrome nuts but it will feel stuck on.Try squeezing a small screwdriver between the boot and trany.

I unscrewed the 4 chrome nuts and pryed a little and it popped right off.

There is some serious sealant on that thing. I took a flathead screwdriver to pry mine up. That crap they use for a sealant has to be toxic.
