How did you guys get the supporting rods that mount up to the driver side manifold bolts to hook up with the bolts suplied by EM. They look like theyre not long enough.... did anyone else run into this problem?

You have to omit one of them. And the other you grind off some material on the end to clear the tube. Then it will mount onto the stud without any problems.
I gotta jump in with another question concerning the EM longtubes.
Is there anything special needed to get the A/C compressor struts to bolt up properly (this is on a '96)? My EMs are on the way and would like to be prepared.

Originally on your LTx engine. On the drivers side third bolt from the front on the headers. There are two struts coming from the Alternator and one from the back of the AC bracket. One of them has to be omitted and I think its the alternator strut. If I have time tomorrow morning before I go to my shop I will get a digital picture of my car. Then I can post it so you can know how it should look. At that third bolt location you have to use the factory stud and use a spacer that should have been part of the headers. Using the stud you can place one of the struts to that point. The other has to be omitted.

I figured a spacer would be needed. I hate eliminating supports the factory figured were necessary. Hopefully nobody has anything negative to report from the deletion.
I left all three brackets off when I installed my EM's last year. I noticed that with the AC on, it now has a nasty vibration in the 2000-3000 range. I'm going to add the AC brace and one alternator brace back which will hopefully take care of it.
My engine also does have a very minor balance problem, so it could just be that it's being magnified. If your engine is in perfect balance, you may not have the same problem I am.
Yea, I'm with you. The SLP stainless shorty's I used to have had the spacers built in on both sides (dipstick mount on passenter side). They were actually very nice quality -- just didn't add any power
