have both cables adjusted as far as they will go, and still about 1/8th turn from wide open. Any suggestions?

well if you tighten both cables as far as they will go, it should be wide open regardless right?

If you look at how the ASR works, it can be limiting your throttle movement even though it is not being actuated. As a "test", you can stick a drill bit through the holes in the ASR and then floor it to see if it will go WOT. If you start digging, you'll see what I mean. Good Luck!!!!

I even went so far as to call a dealer and speak to an ASE mechanic who has worked on Vettes. He may have been full of it, but he told me that its normal for the blades to not be completely horizontal.
I don't buy that, but I couldn't for the life of me get them all the way open...

A scan-tool can read the percentage of throttle opening as determined by the ECM -- when the accelerator is completely to the floor, it should read 100%. If the computer is reading 100%, that's all you need.
Have you made sure it isn't something as simple as something under the accelerator pedal?
