lowering kit ? on 84

Anybody have to use the spring mounting upgrade kit on an 84-87 that they state is required

602-714 is NOT a spring up grade kit. It's a spring MOUNTING up grade kit. If you click on the part number, there is a pic of the kit.

sorry that's the part I was talking about, is it really required to install the lowering kit?

I don't know. I've never played with my springs. They seem to think so. I just wanted to alert you that you didn't have to buy a spring kit.

I'm still undecided on that. i didn't use it, and my spring wedges came loose and damaged the spring. The spring also squeaks loud as hell too. the proper retainers should clamp down and hold the pivots in place better.

Do they come already shortened? I hate having to pay for new parts then cut them up.
