Help fuel guage screwy
I have a '90 that has a few guage problem. It reads full all the time. I have done the procedures listed in the tech tips on cleaning the contact. Once completed I turned the key on and operated the float by hand and the guage seemed to work fine, but once it was bolted back in the car it read full again. The tank was probably only a 1/4 full. Has anyone seen this??

I've not had that problem but since your float signal registered ok under test I suspect the float is hanging up in the tank. Perhaps the rod is bent a little and rubbing the tank.
