02sensors
okay vette gurus i need to know how many 02 sensors are on a lt1 96 vette i am getting four codes and they are all saying 02 sensor like bank 1 bank1sen2 ;bank2sen1 and bak2 sen2 any help please???

FYI, the 2 O2 sensors "upstream" are used by the PCM when the engine has reached operating temerature(ie very hot), and the voltage produced by the sensor is used to instruct the fuel mixing system to strengthen or weaken the mixture. The voltage produced by the "upstream" sensors is proportional to the difference of Oxygen content between the exhaust vs. outside air.
The "downstream" O2 sensors have no effect on the AFR ratio, but they are used to indicate if your catalytics are working.
