Hi there I was wondering if anybody can tell me the name of this hose and the best way to repair it.
I was driving home from work and i heard a noise comming from the engine. I pulled over and saw the the Copper hose that runs right along side the valve cover on the passenger side. and has that thick stringy fabrick around most of it. The hose goes starts at about the middle of the valve cover. In the engine. runs along side it bends around the backside of the valve cover and goes into the top of the engine where the throtle body is but the back of it closest to to the window. the hose literaly broke and disconnected. could this be repaired with a peice of another copper hose and welded or does the whole thing need replaced
thanks
I am thinking EGR piping here? and the noise is coming from the exhaust manifold where it connects. But from your description, I am not really certain? If this is what you are describing, and it broke, I would replace it with a new one.

take a look at this picture. I have the EGR tubing circled. Is this what you are talking about?
Yes That is the exact tube im talking about.
Thanks for the picture.
I cant replace it with a factory hose because i got custom valve covers that the custom hose wont fit around. The tube had to be cut and put a piece of high temperature hose in the space. So im thinking the hose that was put there wasnt that great at handeling high temps.
I need to know wht would be the best way to fill that space in?
thanks
You might want to drive the car to an Auto store and see if they can match it up. The key is finding a store with a fellow who knows what he's talking about. Sounds funny, but I only go to Auto Zone when Joe's working!
