I'll be installing my poly bushings this weekend. Afterwards, I'll need a wheel alignment. Any suggestions for places to have the alignment done. The ones I take my other cars to have equipment that looks like it would wreck the front air dam.
I would stay away from places like Firestone and Sears. Find a reputable shop that has new computer-controlled equipment. There should be no problems with getting your car up on the rack. Tell the shop that they have to place some boards at the edge of the ramp if it looks like the airdam will be anywhere near close to hitting.
Beware of shops that tell you that you need new tie rod ends or ball joints in order for them to do a good alignment. If your car feels solid on the street, the chances are that the components are in good condition. Also, some disreputable shops will do what is called a "toe-and-go" which is nothing more than checking or adjusting toe-in and not adjusting camber and caster settings.
The Vette has specific alignment setting for the rear and the front and the shop must do a 4-wheel alignment to get it right. Expect to pay somewhere around $75 to $85 for a good job.
