I just replaced the rear half shaft u-joints and now I was thinking of geting things realligned. With 16yrs and 72K miles I was wondering about the tie rod ends.
How can I check that they are still good?
Visual inspection they appear fine, what to look for?
This is better to do now then get everything aligned, Right?
Would this "tighten" up the feel and handling if they are suspect?

Jack up the car, put your hands at 9 and 3 o'clock and pull back and forth if there is a lot of movement then it may be tie rod related.
Put yor hands at 6 and 12 o'clock and pull back and forth if there is a lot of play you ball joints need looking at.
That makes sense to check them at 9 and 3 o'clock. Not sure when they hold up over time. Just thought it migt be good to update thee parts and get the whole deal aligned and set for a while.
