Default MAF Rebuilt or New?

Well I have changed out the MAF burn off and power relay and still get a 36 code. Looks like the MAF sensor is gone. There are two choices
new or rebuilt. I am leaning toward buying the rebuilt as it is cheaper and it comes with a one year warranty. The new ones come without any. Which means if it does not work it is yours anyway. Ouch! Anyone purchased a rebuilt MAF and what experiences have you had? Also what is the down side to not replacing the MAF? The car runs fine now so I think this must be a long-term problem if not replaced. Buy the way this is 87.

Wrecking yard, over two years ago, $50, still going strong.

Mid 80s 'F' body cars use the same one.

You can buy nice used ones on eBay for about $50+( depending on the competition).
Redneck43 is a vendor on eBay that is also a CF member. I have done several good transactions with him.

If you have an '86-'89 L98 you can use the MAF from a 3rd gen F-body L98 or LB9, likely available from a local bone yard.

I have bought several electrical items from Redneck43 and am very satisfied. He ships fast and everything I have bought has worked like new.

You can score a good used one pretty cheap. I got one for $35 shipped to my door. I'll check around, I think I may have one for you.
