Tunercat vs Tunerpro RT
I will just start to look at tuning my own chips for my engine only here in the next few weeks.
Any opinions on which is better/easier to use from the above choices, Tunercat vs Tunerpro RT?
I have the Datamaster for logging and Burn 1 Chip 256/Chip burner from Moates.net as the rest of the package.
TIA

I forgot to mention, will Tunerpro RT work with Win-XP?

Awesome, I wanted all of this stuff to work on XP with a newer laptop,
I love the fact that the Burn 1 does not need external power

I believe TunerCAT is the only one that has the def files for the 85 ecm unless you have swapped it out for something else. I want to learn tuning also but am having a hard time finding the software.

WOW, I burned my first chip!
It was soo exciting, I think I wet myself when I did it too!
Anyway, the Tunerpro RT double stacking feature is really nice!
I used it instead of Tunercat too burn the first chip!

What type of prom are you burning? You don't have to stack anything.. just set the device start address to the appropiate value

AT29C256K chip, double stacking is the way I was told to do it by another guy.
I tried starting the Hex and Chip starts but it would not work. Maybe there is a bug with the Burn1?

are you burning it for a 85 ECM or 86-89?
If its for a 86-89 set the DEVICE START to 0C000. Make sure you leave BUFFER START alone Theres no bug with the burn1, I do this all the time.. It saves headache of stacking the bin
