This past weekend, my driver's side window decided to fall. I went in and fixed that. In the process, the orange wire detached from the courtesy light. Reattached that (surprisingly difficult). When everything went back together, the cargo lights decided to stay on. And on. Had to boost car this morning and cannot figure why the cargo lights are doing this. Then, when I got to work, the driver's side electric lock decided to stop working. Does my car have spring fever and everything is just getting lazy? Didn't think so. Could orange wire be shorted (not sure how, but .....). Could this be a bad diode module? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the only option I see for immediate relief is to remove the bulbs from the cargo lamps.
If your car is a coupe, the only thing that could keep the cargo lights on is a misadjusted or bad rear Hatch switch. Pop the hatch and check the switch.
Manually push down on the switch and see if the cargo lights go out.
The switch has two black wires going to it.
When the hatch is open the switch should be shorted.
When the hatch is closed the switch should be open.
As far as your door locks, does the passenger side power door lock switch work in lock and unlock?
What does the driver side lock switch do? Does it lock or unlock or nothing?
Did you verify the connector for the door lock switch is plugged together and no wires have pulled off the switch?
