Default New PCM for a 95

Looks like I'm going to have to get a new PCM, but the dealer said they have to program it before it will work. I have been using LT1 edit for a couple years now and was wondering if I can just download my current tune to the PCM or does the dealer have to program it first?

Thanks

Get a hold of Andrew at AKM. He might be able to fix it for you. http://www.akmcables.com/

What happened to your PCM? The problem is when you get a new PCM the LT1 edit program won't recognize it because the internal serial numbers won't be the same as what the program reads. A new PCM needs to be programmed with a factory flash before your editor can program it. A new PCM is basically brain dead until it gets a fresh GM flash. If Andy can't fix your PCM I can fix it, if the problem is a flash chip corruption issue. I don't usually do this anymore but I would to help a member out. I was doing it for awhile but it just doesn't pay for what it takes to remove the chips and install sockets into the PCM. I would then get your file to install into the PCM.

Thanks guys, Andrew was a big help. Looks like I'm going to try tunercat, because it's cheaper than getting a new license of LT1edit ana then I don't have to worry about it anymore.

tjwong: Thanks, but it's not a corruption problem. I'm having a problem with the car going really really lean just after startup. The WB shows 20 and the car kicks and bucks, but then clears up and drives normal until I shut it off. The fuel pressure is fine, I've replaced the O2 sensors, the Temp sensor, the injectors, had the alternator and battery tested and installed a Delteq ignition system. Not sure what else to do. If you have any ideas, I'm open. Is there some other piece of circuitry that is used for driving the injectors I can check?

Thanks
