Default Before or After the MAF?

When my kit was setup at a race shop, the picture in the instructions showed a non MAF setup (speed density)with the nozzle down near the radiator.

With my MAF setup, that put the nozzle "uptream" from the MAF...or...through the MAF.

I was told this was not the correct position and I relocated it to about 3-4 inches before the TB, Which is after the MAF.

I have NOS kit #5174. It came with an auxillary fuel pump. What is the proper location for the nozzle. Before, or after the MAF?

Thanks.

Put it between the MAF and the throttle body. Don't spray nitrous through the MAF. So it sounds like you moved it to the right position.

I would not spray into the plenum ,set one nozzle pointing to the top of the throttle body, the other to the bottom of the throttle body,3 to 6 inches away.
Do Not spray into the MAF.
It will short it out and white junk will spray all over the place.

wet kit = after Mass Air
dry kit = before so the mass air can add the extra fuel

I believe that to be with a LS1 engine. The LT1 dry kits boost the pressure through the regulator and uses an aux. fuel pump.

I thought I was specific with my info. The year of my car is easy enough to figure out(95AquaC4), however I failed to mention it still has the LT1 in it.

I posted the kit # so if anyone looked it up (or had the same kit) and had questions about my setup, they could ask me and we'd all be on the same page.

I believe what you said to be true of the LS1 engines. I'm hoping someone can confirm this is only for the LS1's

Mine has a jet in the line to the fuel reg, to boost pressure so, I'm 90% certain I should be after the MAF, but I'd like to be 100% certain. Like you said...engines and MAF's are not cheap.

If it's a wet system ,should be infront of the throttle body.
Don't make a mistake or.

your kit has to be after the mass air , it gets the extra fuel by adding fuel pressure from the regulator , your kit don’t come with a fuel solenoid it has a nitrous regulator , by putting a jet it that would bump the fuel pressure up . Make sure your fuel pressure is at stock don’t bump it up , when you spray it the regulator would bump it up as needed
