Default adjusting the tps

i just bought a new tps for my 90 and the computer says that the tps signal voltage is low during idle. i replaced the part to try to get rid of a lead exhaust indication code sais oxygen sensor voltage stays low after 1-2 minutes of engine run also i replaced the oxygen sensor. Anyone have some ideas

If the TPS has slotted holes, adjust to the voltage as stated in your HELMS manual. If the holes aren't slotted, it's non-adjustable and the ECM learns the throttle position from the TPS. Further at temps to adjust a non-adjustable TPS won't achieve anything. Was the new TPS installed correctly on the tang in the TB to operate the TPS?

Remember that a code from a given sensor doesn't necessarily mean that the sensor is defective. It only means THAT particular sensor sent out of parameter information, but not what caused that information. Follow the charts in your manual to track down the cause, check the various components, and correct the problem. That's a lot better than just "throwing parts" at it wasting money.

RACE ON!!!

Your '90 L98 uses an non adjustable TPS, so the ECM learns idle & WOT settings.

Open the connector in the Orn wire near the battery for a minute to reset the ECM. Then see if the TPS code comes back after the ECM has time to learn the new unit.
