I found a chip that I used to use. I believe it was an Ed Wright chip.
I have since took my car to a dyno where a chip guy tweaked my chip a bit, but I believe he just saved the .bin from the original and tweaked it onto another chip.
So, I thought I have the original Ed Wright chip here, but when I try to open the .bin in TunerPro or WinBin, it just gives a bunch of 0's as values. It said device is not erased and device is programmable in PP2.
If it's not erased and it is programmable and it's just showing 0's, is the chip garbage or is it just locked out somehow?
By the way, I'm trying to use the 27C128 option under PP2 program. How can I tell if it's the right setting?

Is the chip indeed a 128k chip? If it is a 256k chip then the tuner may have stacked the program. In that case you have to edit the file with a hex editor to be able to read it. How large is the file that you read from the chip? If its 16k then its not stacked but if its 32k then it is. Another issue with the 256k chip is that he possibly had programmed the chip at a different starting address. But with that you should be able to open the file.
I just looked at the file and it's 16 k. It was definitely meant for an 89, so I'm guessing it's corrupt somehow. I've had it in my console compartment for a few months just sitting there.
If so I just checked it out for you and it reads fine with tunercat. I don't use tuner pro so I couldnt' tell you the problem. Email the author mark and ask him.. he seems like a stand up guy.
No, it's not the chip.zip that I posted in an earlier thread. It's an extra chip that I can save a 16 k .bin file, but once opened it shows all zeros as data.
Alvin, when reading that chip.zip file in the other thread, did you see any major issues with it that I should remedy?
