ok what else can cause a dead miss at 12-1500 rpms on a 91?I have changed the pickup coil, secondary coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the ign. control modual..
the motor is a new 383 and I cant get this problem fixed no matter what I try.I have gone over the firing order 5 times and they are all right.I ran a compression check and all the cylinders had good compression.I have played around with the timming and realy I got no change.the car falls on its face at 5,000 rpms too.after 5 grand theres nothing.it acts like it hits a wall. the cam was degreed in so thats not the problem.I cant find any vacume leaks at all either.
could it be a ground off the computer somewhere or something????
this car is driving me crazy and I am about to my witz end with it.
ya I got a chip burnt for it but it wasnt dyno tuned yet.
the stock intake should allow the motor to turn 6000 shouldnt it?
the miss is not a surge it was a dead miss but I got that figured out.it was running real lean...the 4500-5000 problem is still there though.

No, a long tube runner TPI intake creates huge pumping losses around 4750 RPM which prevents the engine from making power to 6K. Switch to a short runner intake and then your engine will pull to 6K.
