Unless you've got a stroker I don't think a 58mm would really help you out at all. With heads and a cam you would probably want to go to a 52mm but the 58mm is for the bigger cube motors or high revving 350's.

A 58mm is unnecessary on all but the most heavily modded motors.

The stock 48 can flow more air than the engine can use.

I put a 58tb on my stock L98 Iroc just for ***** and giggles and haven't had any probs it does make the intake sound more noticable. I had one laying around so I used it. but don't go out and buy one thinking it's going to be a big performance gain Get some headers

on a stock 350cid, with a 58mm TB you might notice some new-found sluggishness from a dead stop.

I have one on a 400 solid roller motor. It works fine. If you don't have enough cubes or rpm it isn't going to do much for you.
