what are the recommendations for a good spark plug to use on an '86? So far the engine is standard.

Thanks

a plug is a plug is a plug. They are all about the same and do the same unless you are throwing more spark to them ie. MSD, accel , High Volt coils ect. What your paying for in OTC plugs is the life of them. If you tune your car one a year just go with a good brand name champ,NGK, ect. if you drive it alot and don't like to wrench go with a high milage plug. If you have High Volt mods already then you should already know the answer to your question

A lot like The standard AC Delco Rapidfire,
I prefer Bosch Platinum +4.

Just changed mine for Platinum+4 and the idle improved dramatically (although I also replaced distributor cap, rotor and leads).

I like their design which opens up the flame front similar to those people that cut back the center electrode.

I've tried platinums on my 85 but it seems to me as though the stock AC copper cores are just as good.
