anybody can tell me how to get to the ecm on a 86?i thik its under the dash passenger side?

that's where it is in my 84, but i haven't had mine out...i will in about 4 weeks though if everything goes well and Bill feels like doing another 7747

Disconnect battery negative terminal.

Remove the black hush panel, I think there are 3 small 7mm screws. Pull down the wiring harness gently out of the way but do not start disconnecting things.

Get a couple extensions, a wratchet and an 10mm socket to remove the ECM. There are 2 bolts and its positioned vertically behind the dash. Once those 2 are out, gently pull down on the harness and it will come down.

yes, it's the panel above where the passengers feet go (nothing to do with the dash. dissconect the battery first before you do anything. lay on your back and remove the panel (3 screws), and an interior light connection. two socket screws vertically hold the computer upwright, remove them and push the computer asside off the bracket that holds it and it will pull out.

can anyone direct me to a printed diagram of the contacks on the ecm.i need to know what wire lead is the speed output from the ecm to the dash?thanks
