Default Need help

Hello friends, I am in desperate need of some help. I currently own a 1984 Corvette that been through two marriages and numerous girlfriends over 10 yesrs. I just recently returned from a deployment in the sandbox. Upon returning I noticed that my instrument cluster on my 1984 Corvette had become sun burnt, so I removed it and replaced the lens. Upon installing the cluster unit I charged my battery and the cluster came on very bright. Upon trying to start the vette, the cluster went dim and the car would not start. I noticed that fuel was not coming out of the injectors as it usually does. So I check the fuel pump with a direct connect to the terminal jumper and it work good. I then checked the inlet fuel filter which was not clogged, so I removed the fuel line and again direct connect to the terminal and gas flowed very well out of the line. I have noticed when I turn the vette on the fuel pump does not come on or the lights on the cluster stay dim even with me shinning a light into the photo cell (which should brighten the cluster lights) or even trying to adjust them with the light switch. I then poured gas directly into the carbs and the engine fired right up but would only stay running while I poured gas into the carbs. My brother who is an ASE mechanic stated that the possibility of both injectors going at the same time would be about one in ten thousand. He stated it could be the ignition control module or the ECM? Do you have any thoughts on this problem? Could it be the Module or ECM, this only occurred after removing and installing the digital instrument cluster before that approximately 6 months the vette ran perfectly fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My brother lives about 10 hrs from me and he said if I take it to a dealer they will perform the hit and miss procedure and could cost me a great deal of money.

No PM's, I checked the codes and I get the standard 12 no others. I figured maybe the ECM or the prom but no code on either. As I stated I removed the cluster replaced the lens and reinstalled. Can not figure out for the life of me what is wrong. I have good fuel pressure no clogged lines.

Bill, I have the same problem. I installed DUI Hi Performance dist. a year ago. About 5 months later I had the same symptoms you got. Read in the manual that if your ecm does not recieve voltage signal from
your ignition module it will not allow your fuel injectors to spray fuel(safety feature). Put orig. module from old distributor and engine fired up. Put new module in
ran for about 6 months, same problem. I have tapped
on the module twice to get it to work, now I have to find out if I have a bad connecton or what. Hope this helps.

Got it running about two days ago, went and traced the ground on the ECM did a little scraping ensured I had a good ground then replaced the ignition control module. Fired right up, ran like a champ until the battery went dead, need to replace the alternator now, but at least I know what it is. It was kind of weird thought I didn't have no check engine light come on when I turned the ignition on, had the brake and door light even tried the ecm jumper test but did not receive any codes until I did the above steps, now I receive the 12 code which is a good thing just glad it is running.
