1990: Datamaster having trouble connecting?
I bought a cable from www.aldlcable.com
Downloaded the tts datamaster software
I have to be doing something wrong, when I launch the program none of the fields fill up with data. It just sits there. I checked for data via checking for chatter and there does appear to be information being sent.
need some advice on what Iam doing wrong.

You need to select File / Record ALDL data. Make sure you have already selected the correct vehicle type for your software. Once you have the record screen up, you can select the com port and a file name. It's all in the pdf file.. the instructions are very good.

so.....
so when I hit record aldl data will the information pop up into the boxes in like real time having the numbers fluctuate and stuff or is this just a one quick snapshot of the system?
Iam wanting to see live data as the car is running, not just a picture

When you hit Record aldl data it brings up another screen which allows you to (among other things) set a file name to record your run and also setup the computers COM port (usually COM1). There are buttons on the second screen to take a single shot of the information, or start recording all engine data. Once recording, the original screen will show things in glorious realtime, as you described.
