Default Light Weight Head Lights

Does anyone know of a brand of replacement headlights that are lighter weight than the stock headlights for my 1996? I am aware that such a headlight exists but cannot remember the brand name or where to buy such lightweight head lights.

IIRC, the 96s have plastic lenses vs. the earlier glass units that caused the issues with the headlight gear. From what I've seen, most replacements are glass, so will be heavier than stock. Why not just get the OE lamps?

Anyway... for more info.

Wagner made the plastic headlights. It's the Wagner Lighting Division of Cooper Industries. The bar code number is 42723 56054. It's the Plastic Halogen HP6054.

I don't know if they are still available. I haven't seen them in the local car parts stores for a few years now.

The usual Corvette parts places carry plastic headlights.

I have a set that was on mine when I got it if you want some used ones.

I changed to the Hella H4 housing.

I had the lightweights in mine and they worked fine but always felt that i needed more light dispersion especially at higher highway speeds. I went with the sylvania silverstars. Not plastic or lightweight but they make a world of difference in brightness. I was truly amazed! I know this doesn't answer your question but maybe it gives you another option. Just buy one and compare it to your OEM...you will love it!

Took out the plastics after buying my car for more light. Still have them around in the garage somewhere. I don't think I'll be using them again if you're interested. Feel free to email me
