I drive a '96 vert on the stock Bilsteins. Much of my driving is over lousy roads. Stock Bilsteins are very harsh. Rear end steps out frequently in bumpy corners. I am thinking of going with Edelbrock's.
Anybody have opinions on them? Will they improve performance and comfort on lousy roads, while giving firm suspension on good surfaces? Should I believe the marketing line?
On the other hand would coilovers be a good solution for my poor road condition? Are they a direct bolt-in solution, or are modifications necessary? What would be the preferred brands? Or are they mostly custom made?
I am just looking to settle down the suspension somewhat over poor surfaces, while maintaining the performance level for spirited street driving. thanks
I just put the KYBs on my 94 and am very happy with them. A lot cheaper than the edelbrocks and they smooth the car out a lot without sacrificing much (if any) performance. Just my 2 cents.
I wanted a smoother ride than what my old Bilsteins were giving me.
I went with the Edelbrocks. they look cool too.
No compliants after 6k miles on them.
