I always use AC DELCO, but I'm ashamed to say there is a Fram on my car right now. It was all they had in stock when I did my oil change. I did at least buy the top of the line fram and it's been good to me. No problems, of course my car has 142,000 miles on it. JZ

I like the K&N because I know it is a decent filter and because it has a hex nut molded into the top of it that makes removal very easy on a warm engine. No messing with a strap wrench and burning the crap out of your hand.

ill tell you what else works... Cut the end off the old filter, gut it, get a roll of good quality toilet paper, pull the cardboard core out of that, slip it in over the centre of the gutted filter, weld the top back on, screw it back on to the car.

but at the end of the day,i would rather just by an ACdelco since thats the only one we can really get here in Australia. I dont trust the toilet paper conversion as far as i can throw it. BUT i have seen it done, and the guy that did it was a loser to say the least, thank god it wasnt a Corvette he put it on!!

Not sure if the A/C Delco PF35L fits the LT1, does on my L98. Amsoil also makes a quality filter.

It appears not, the service manual specifies ACdelco PF-51. So the PF-25 and PF-35-L probably wont fit.

When you get into the cost of premuim filters, they are all in the same $11.00 to $13.00 range.

The reason I get the K&N? Sure, it's a good filter, but it's that stupid little nut on the end. I like that nut. It makes removal SO much easier.

The LT1 uses the HP-2001, the L98 uses the HP-2002.

Oh, yea, Fram is junk.
