When I run Datamaster the DTC indicator is always RED. I have never had the SES light illuminate on the dash.
Previously (as some of you know) I had many data errors, and when I look back through the runs the data errors normally bring with them some DTC codes.
My most recent run, with no data errors, had a red DTC indicator but no codes were set in the DTC bitmap / matrix screen in Datamaster.
My questions are:
1. If a DTC had been set previously, how can I read it with Datamaster
2. Will 'Clear MALFS' be the right way to remove the red indicator
3. Should a previous DTC code illuminate SES on the dash?
Just click on it. It will tell you. If you disconnected the wire to set the timing , that will show up as a DTC. This is not a hard code and wont light up the dash.
wow, you are still having problems. First, I would pull out the data pin from the ecm weatherpack connector(blue 30 IIRC), then run your own wire from that pin to your diag cable. Check the aldl ground for resistance.....
