Default Pulling the hub?

Well I have removed my harmonic balancer and am now working on the hub. I have secured a puller onto it and gave it a good work over. So far all that has happened is that I have bent my harmonic balancer puller. Any sugestions would be good. I am calling it quits for the night since I am not in the mood and don't want to come up with a method that might cause a problem. Thanks in advance.

As far as I am concerned, there is only one tool the pull or install the LT1/LT4 damper hub -- the Kent Moore tool designed for this purpose.

I've read posts where other pullers have been used successfully, but I won't take the chance.

If you are interested in the Kent Moore tool, do a search on "Kent Moore" for the info on how to buy it.

Sounds like you either left the bolt in the center of the hub, or your puller is pushing on the hub vs a bolt threaded into the crank (but not tightened all the way down). I'k with Tom, the best way to do this job is with the correct tool. I've done it both ways, and I'm glad I bought the KM puller/installer.

From my article on another Forum...Here's what the puller looks like when removing the hub:

Here's what the installer looks like:
