Default '85 front sway bar mounting problem

I've looked at some past threads and am looking for more ideas on getting this front sway bar lined up.

I put the poly bushings (2) on the sway bar to frame brackets, and also the end links (4 total). The bar is mounted to the frame and to the passenger side, but I can't get the last mounting point to line up properly. It is the control arm to bracket on the driver's side. I've tried using a jack and that hasn't helped. I've also tried with the frame mounting brackets loose and snug. I'm off about 1/2 to 5/8" inboard on the holes. I've also tried a screwdriver in the bracket holes to get it moving and I can get about 3/8" away, but it seems that this is way out of alignment. It also looks like the bar itself sets the bracket to be on this angle.

The amount of effort to get these close is also worrysome.

Any suggestions

You said you tried a jack. Have you tried lifting the front end and then lowering it with blocks under one tire? I had to place a 2x6 under my passenger side tire to get the driver's side bracket lined up.

I got mine finally. I found a thread in the archives that said to loosen the mounting bolts on the frame all but 3 threads. Get one end link mounted up then "persuade" the other one to line up through whatever means is required. I used a bar through one hole to twist the end link 3/8" to line up. The finally tighten the frame mounting bolts.

Worked for me.
