A heated o2 is always a good idea with long tubes. Check out the teck tip about it. It gives part numbers and prices.

If the O2 is down in the collector like on my lingenfelter's, you'll need the heated O2. My car wouldn't even go closed loop at a steady cruise, let alone at idle.

Yeah if its in the collector its too far down, you will need the heated sensor.

I would call Lingenfelter for advice. They should support you with this problem.

I bet they'll still help. They are VERY good with this kind of thing.

i am sure they would help ... but i had a gut feeling when installing them that the 02 was too far away.. and to be honest i have never replaced it.. so i am gonna install a heated o2 today and go from there... it can't hurt and should be done periodiclly any how.. and by calling them they are gonna suggest a scan of the car to see whats going on and to make sure things are with in the set perameters ..

Default Lingenfleter won't help you... period

Has anyone w/an L98 take a look at their site lately? They barely, grudgingly support the LT1 C4 Vette. In any case, I also purchased a set of longtubes from Lingenfelter 3 years ago. They were pushing the Stainless Steel versions at that time. I then had the headers JetHot Sterling coated. I am using the original, standard O2 sensors w/no problems. Idle quality is great. There is, however, one problem which I may have created for myself. I also had the Y-pipe, the cat and the after-cat Y-pipe coated. The only thing I didn't have coated were the polished stainless mufflers. My cat-back system is a B&B Tri-Flow (VERY loud!). The problem? The ceramic coating keeps the exhaust gases SO HOT, that my rear bumper almost caught fire! The paint browned up a little (Arctic White) and the bumper was smoking!!! So I ended up having to reposition the outlets 1"+ from the bumper surface. Other than that, no problems. And it passes emissions w/o the air pump in Pennsylvania.
