Default Performance Modifications (pricing / necessity)?

Car:
1990 C4 Convertable
396 (9.11:1) | ATI D-1 Procharger (8-rib) | TNT 200-shot N2O

Proposed Mods:
FAST Sequential XFI system
Dana 44 complete from ZR-1
Complete Roll Cage with swing out doors (powder coated)
Dyno Tuning (3 settings [street, strip, strip w/ N2O])

The car will also have Baer 6 piston Alcon calipers up front and 4 piston Alcon calipers on the rear with 13.5" rotors in both places. Exotic Muscle coil over conversion kit with Energy Suspension bushings. HRE 20" x 12" in the rear and HRE 19" x 10" up front ... can't remember the tires off hand.

Now, how necessary are the proposed modifications? I will get the FAST system and tuning, but is the roll cage and rear end super important?

Finally, what should I expect to pay... its looking like it will be around $12k.

Thanks,

-JRW

If you intend to run at a NHRA strip and to hook up that power both the cage and the D44 are necessary.

More correctly the cage will be required to make more than one pass and the D44 will be "required" after a pass or two.

Yeah, I want to spend a little time on the strip. Im about 35mins from Englishtown, NJ.

Does $12k seem about right for everything?

I couldn't start to estimate costs on those mods.

Are you having it all done or turning wrenches on some of it?

I will be looking forward to seeing you run at some of the Corvette Challenge events this season. I would expect you go do pretty well in the Quick 8 competition.

I don't even know where to begin....put it this way. The wheels and tires alone will be close to your $12k budget.

BTW: 9.11:1 on blower and juice will not last long if you plan on making any power.

MHO,

Paul

Honestly, I have wanted to race since I first got my license ... now that I am back from college, I can finally build the car of my dreams and have some fun with it.

I will be having all of the above listed mods done at a race shop. $12k includes labor, tuning, parts, and tax.

Suspension, brakes, wheels, interior, and body will be done by myself and other local friends in the industry.

Thanks,

-JRW

Sorry, I already have the suspension, brakes, wheels, etc.

$12k is only for the FAST system, cage, dana 44, tuning, installation, etc.

Sounds pretty cheap to me... Figure in another 50% and you "might" get there... Trust me, I know, I do this for a living...
