My service engine light was on constantly while running so I purchased a GM Code Scanner. Error code indicated bad MAF, so I replaced it and reset the computer. Now this first time I run the car the Service engine light stays off and every thing runs fine...the next time the service engine ligth returns so I hooked up the scanner and the light does not blink to start indicating that I need to perform a 'diagnostic circuit check' refering to a chart in the vehicle service manual. The only one I have at this time is the HAYES manual which does not mention this chart. Any ideas on this
'diagnostic circuit check' and how to proceed.
Try replacing the MAF power relay and burnoff relay. This may solve your problem. They are only about $10 each. They are located together on the firewall right behind the battery. Had your same problem and this fixed mine. Cheers
p.s. Autozone was giving away a free "jumper key" to check the "check engine" codes on the ALDL. I think they still do.
