Oil cooler mount spot?
I am wondering if the oil cooler will be able to get enough air, I would guess that the fan will suck air from my Dewitts rad and actually push air onto the oil cooler,
sound reasonable?
Cool running from Derale.
Fluid Cooler, Engine, Tube and Fin, Black, Aluminum/Copper, 7 1/2 in. x 17 in. x 3/4 in., Each
Derale's tube-and-fin design for engine oil coolers rely on multiple passes through the cooler core to keep your oil from getting too hot and breaking down. This, in turn, means longer engine life. The coolers run your engine oil through a series of copper tubes that collect the heat and dissipate it to the surrounding air. Most coolers come with a thermostatically controlled sandwich adapter and a complete installation kit with 10 ft. of hose unless noted.

A friend of mine chose to mount the same unit in the spare tire location on his 86. Of course, this means you'd have to do away with the spare tire.

Since taking the factory cooler off, my oil temps went from 191-194 up to 208-211 degrees.
Some people say that the factory cooler does not work, but they are just plain wrong, it may not be snazzy like the aftermarket coolers, but they flat out do help to the tune of 10-12 degrees.
They are compact and simple, the big problem is that they cost $196 new and an aftermarket cooler costs about the same.
