Default adjustable fule pressure regulator

I had a LT4 Hot Cam long tubes and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator installed a couple of weeks ago. The car seems to run great but I heard mention of the computer advancing the timing dew to the increase of fuel preasure negating aney performance gained with the new regulator. Is this true? I have not had the car tuned yet should I have it tuned? People with first hand information chime in. Thanks

The computer will adjust the injector pulse width at idle and part-throttle to keep the air/fuel mix correct to minimize emissions, so changing the fuel pressure shouldn't affect things at idle/part-throttle since the ECM will compensate. If you're wondering about the computer adjusting the spark timing because of the fuel pressure changing, I don't see that happening.

The AFPR's really just a fine-tuning device, I'd guess you'd want to bump the fuel pressure a bit above stock so you're getting a bit more fuel in at WOT to compensate for the headers, but really you'd need to dyno it or use a wide-band O2 sensor to get it dialed in exactly for WOT.

Just my thoughts

Ben

Default Fuel Pressure

TPIS told me years ago the LT1 is actually programmed too rich.

Look at the pulse width of the injectors to see if there is too much fuel.

Look for 950mV on 02 sensors at WOT!

Someone correct me if that is bogus info.

With my TTS .I have seen changes that you speak of .
The computer is a flash computer and it will correct itself.
I would disconect the pos cable and make sure you have no codes and take it from there.
I run my regulator at 42 psi but the Ltrim is off at higher speeds.
The car does not smell when sitting at a stop light anymore.
At mid range is when it drops ,leans out .
