I have a major oil leak coming from the back of the manifold where the the pressure sensor goes. I 80% sure the oil is being pushed past the threads on the part that is screwed into the block. Not sure what that silver thing is called. The oil isn't leaking at the sensor. I used Permatex High Temp Thread sealant around the threads. Did I use the correct type of sealer? What is the torque spec on that part? Maybe I didn't tighten it enough.
Year??? If it's a gen I engine, chances are, that it is the gasket between the back if the intake manifold and the block. The threads from the oil pressure unit can leak, but it usually wouldn't be described as "major". I would have used Teflon paste (never tape) but the Permatex thread sealer should be fine.
You got the right sealer, I would bet you just didn't tighten it enough. To my knowledge there is no torque spec on that but you just tighten it until it's fairly hard to turn with a short wrench.
I do agree with CFI-EFI about it being the back of the intake manifold though. Good luck.
