a little bit of white smoke at idle?
when my car is idleing the rpms are about 11-1300 rpms and there is a light white smoke that comes out of the exhaust. its not thick and it does not come out when i rev the engine. its a brand new rebuilt engine, anyone know what this is? my guess would be air fuel ratio....
any info would be great

To me, white smoke means coolant is entering the
combustion chamber. If so, this is bad and needs
to be corrected before coolant gets into the oil and
takes out a bearing or before it puddles in the
chamber, causes hydrolock and bends a rod.
Various tests include watching for bubbles, checking
the plugs for signs, using a pressure tester, using a
combustion gas sniffer kit (do a google on LISLE
75500 - COMBUSTION LEAK DETECTOR).
Search the archives here on the forum using key
words like coolant leak to see posts by others who
have had problems caused by leaks from heads
and intake manifolds.
Talk to the builder and get him involved in the
diagnosis.

check and make sure your engine builder torqued down the heads to the spec required by the head mfr (or GM).....possibly a bolt or two was torqued too light.
sounds like a coolant leak to me as well.
did you have your chip recalibrated, and if so who did it?

That is a high idle. Like a cold idle. When the car warms up and the idle drops to normal, does it still smoke? White smoke, condensation, is normal for a cold engine. More so in cooler weather.

i checked again today and i didnt see it, i dont think it was condesantion because it did not disapate that quickly, the idle stays at about 10-1200 rpms even when it is been running for a while. im going to keep my eye on the smoke, it does not smell like coolant.
