After searching for 2 days now, I am blaming the loss of my upper a arm bolt and shims on my 3 year old daughter (she is most likely perpetrator). I have all three of the other bolts and shims, just missing the passenger front. Anyway to the question. How hard is it to obtain new bolts and shims and how do you realign the upper control arm to factory settings? Am I in a real pickle here?
I could have looked up the bolt if you'd have given a YEAR. You can order one from the dealer, but he'll probably want to know the year, too. The shims are a common alignment shop staple, nothing special. If you don't have an alignment rack in your garage, you are going to have to have it professionally aligned after you get it back together.
CFI-EFI thanks for the input. I did not realize the suspension bolts were different through the years. If you have time can you lookup the part numbers for the bolt, two washers and the nut. My car year is a 92 and it is a manual if that matters. Thanks

I've got a spare bolt from my '95 because I used longer ones for the camber brace. Let me know and I'll send it for shipping. Actually any grade 8 bolt of the proper dimensions will work. Now give that sweet little 3 year old a kiss and quit obsessing!

I don't know that they are different. But every time I ASSUME something, it turns around and bites me. I won't even open my parts book if someone won't supply at least the year. As it is, my parts book doesn't cover anything after 1990. Had I known the year, I would have just said nothing about a part number. The rest of my advice applies, though.

I didn't remove the bolts from the car when I re-bushed my suspension, so I never saw the head end, but the way they acted when I was putting it back together, I had visions of that bolt being a carriage bolt, or with some other similar type feature to keep it from turning as it was being tightened. From Corvette Kid NC's description there is a difference in the bolts over the years.
Just call Jason at Vette2Vette, tell him Chris from Alabama referred you. He will hook you up on the bolts probably less than ebay and certainly less shipping $
