I have always had long/hard starts during warmer weather and it is getting worse. The problems are: hard starts, when it does start up it idles at about 4-500 RPMs and gradually goes up to normal, noticable smoke from tailpipes [no, its not oil smoke}, and when I am driving at normal speed and then get on the throttle a good bit I can smell gas. Is it my injectors or could it be something else? It's an '86 with 91k.
I have had an injector/injectors go out twice on my '89.
Both times, it started running rough.
Followed by barley running, clearly a cylinder missing, followed by not running at all.
I didn't get any codes, the car just quit with a week of the first sign.
