To me, Tunerpro was more like Winbin (which I like) than tunercat.

So, is it a good starting point?

Talk to Mangus (author of tunerpro) and see if it supports your year.
I know tunercat does, not sure about tunerpro.

For software Freescan, http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/ecu_software.htm
Morley, how does the FreeScan software work? When I start the program it gives me an error, looking for some kind of file. I have selected the correct vehicle 1994 Camaro z28, Impala SS, Corvette LT1 When you get it up and running it appears to be trying to communicate with the ECM, but basically comes up with gibberish. Any help, ideas, direction? Are there instructions on the use of this software?

Thanks

What exactly does the error say? It could be anything from a corrupt down load to a missing VB file on your machine.

I'll have to check it later and let you know. I'm at my daughters house on my way home from Bowling Green. I will get back to you. thanks.

Ok I went out to the car and got the computer out. Here is the message

Freescan X
"The system cannot find the file specified"

OK

Then in the "Status Messages" window

Status Message

Main: Freescan v2.1.0 by Andy Whittaker
Main: Starting Up.
Main: Model GM 1994 Camaro Z28-Impala SS-Corvette (LT1) selected
Supervisor:
Supevisor: Initializing selected protocol...
P: Creating GM1994CamaroZ28 protocol window

When you click the OK button in the "FreeScan" window the "Freescan - ECU/PCM Scantool" window pops up.

What does this sound like? I'm not sure that it is working correctly. Thanks again.

When I start the program it opens the entire thing (both windows). It sounds like either you are missing an active-X file or have an out of date version or got a bad download/install.
