changed your fuel filter lately? check fuel pressure at the fuel rail, a manual will tell what psi our vettes need.

Sounds like a fuel pump possibly. Check the fuse, connection at the relay and positively buy or borrow a fuel pressure guage. This will confirm it.

could be the fuel pump relay too. Can you hear the fuel pump ?

I'd check for spark too. If there's no signs of spark, check the ignition module.

When this happened to me, it turned out to be the MAF sensor. As soon as I replaced it with a Microtech MAF sensor, I had slightly less problems and less code 33s. Maybe you also would have vacuum leaks in the intake, or bad/leaky injectors. Maybe also a bad FPR, clogged injectors, or fuel lines. I'd check the fuel pump also. Does or did it ever whine when you were less than 1/4th a tank? Good luck, 89 is usually a hellish year in terms of start ups. Good luck.
