Default Are these correct?

I'm in the process of making decisions about which parts for my 383 stroker rebuild. Are these basics correct about my stock engine?:

1 -- block is a 1 piece;
2 -- Cyl. heads are 58cc;
3 -- Top compression that will work for the HEI ignition = 10:1;
4 -- Do I want an internally or externally balanced crank? (a guy I talked with at Scat said I should only go with an externally balanced crank).

Thanks for the help on this!

Yes, Yes, Some guys go as high as 11 to 1 and internal balance preferred but not nescessary. I run 10.5 to 1 and external balance.

WOW! You need to catch up on some basics.

1 --Unless you refer to the main caps as separate items, yes.
2 --Some are. Most aren't.
3 --No!
4 --It depends on your wants, needs, and budget. Internally balanced is generally preferable, but more expensive.

I would suggest some books. Something along the lines of how to build your first engine. Also, subscribe to some magazines and pay close attention the the engine, how to, articles.
