Hard Cold Starts
On behalf of a friend who owns a largely stock 85. Car takes awhile to start when cold. Once its warmed up it fires fine, but if it sits for awhile it usually takes a number of cranks to get to fire. is there some obvious answer to this? is this symptomatic of a common problem? what can be done to make the car fire a little better when cold?

One of the CF members...Bogus.....was having the same problem and it turned out to be his fuel pressure regulator was leaking. You might pull the plugs before it starts and see if they are fouled. Also a FP guage hooked up to the shchader to see if your holding pressure after the pump primes the system. (key on engine off) If it doesn't hold pressure, there is procedure to narrow it down to the offending part(s).
