How exactly does the setup work?I know you have to build it yourself, but is it better or worse than most aftermarket efi setups?I would like to know because I only want to run the carb setup as long as I absolutley have to.Last but not least:how hard is it to hook up on an 85 vette?

I have megasquirt on my 84 C4. I should have it running very soon, just waiting on some fuel line parts.
it can do anything the aftermarket fuel systems can, including spark control and nitrous/alky injection control. It comes with a 2 or 3 bar map for use with boost etc. I personally think it is more capable than the aftermarket stuff since it is open source and there are alot of people developing it at once.
It is simple to hook up also here are all the connections needed.
I don't know if they're better than the fully developed aftermarket stand-alone ECU's, but they're certainly easy and on their way to becoming better and better. I've got one I'm going to use on my Jeep's 258 I-6; should make high angle driving a lot more fun than with a damn carb!! I'm not going to use the ignition function though, just fueling.
