Default roll cage issues

Does anyone know if the Halo bar on a 10 pt is mandatory for most racing classes? Ie Nhra, Ihra, ORR, etc
Or are they open to other designs?

I think it would be much easier on me to use 2 tubes coming from the center of the top of the main hoop,up to the windshield, follow the roofline and then go down at the door pillar.
I could even stand plating inthe center, and gusseting the corners.
The halo bar is gonna make getting in a major ordeal. even with swingouts., id rather go up the middle and into the cowl.

As far as I know, the halo is required with a cage. You DO realize that a cage isn't needed until you break 10.00 seconds, in most cases, right? With a cage you also need periodic chassis certifications. Head for www.nhra.com and order a rule book for $10.00.

RACE ON!!!

My experience with NHRA is you can put in extra supports, but you must follow their minimum design specs. No alterations even when they are "just as good or better". They have too much at stake to allow changes that are unproven and not SFI approved
