Need Tips for A/C Compressor Install
Hey guys, i am installing a new A/C compressor in my 84, any tips are welcome, like does the new compressor need to be oiled and were does the oil go and what kind it uses, i have pulled tons of engine and other stuff but i am green at A/C work, thanks

I may have forgotten something but here are some steps.
I had to do one on my 90 a few years ago. I had a "used" compressor I was installing. I did have to flush it and fill it with new oil. Castrol makes synthetic oil for them that worked great for me. Make sure your oil is compatible with the type of Freon used. If your other compressor failed badly, it may have sent goo down the lines when it did fail. I did remove the discharge line and flush it. I also installed a new orifice tube and dryer. You should be good with this. I am sure others will chime in if I’ve forgotten something.
