Go to the General Corvette/Autocrossing and roadracing. They use them and have good info. Also ask about or look into what they call something like "semi-coil overs". From what I have been reading they have a variable rate as opposed to a single rate spring.

I like the variable rate idea for a mainly street car.
I am going to start road racing as well. It seems to be a toss up on the Koni vs the QA-1. Koni makes a great shock. I went with the QA-1 because no one could say the Koni's were that much better and the QA-1 are easier to adjust in the rear. For the Koni you must either drop the rear shock to adjust or drill a hole in the frame to reach the adjustment. QA-1's are easy to adjust at the bottom of the shock.
i was thinking about doing this too. but one guy brought up a good point, coil over give you a 4 wheel indepent suspension, so then do you also take off the sway bars?? if you don't then do you have a 4 wheel indepent suspension??
From what I have read the sway bars are lighter using the leaf springs because the spring itself contributes to some anti-sway itself. Therefore it might be wise to go to a stiffer sway bar with coilovers. Somebody who has experience needs to speak up and help out here.
I am looking at teh DDR4855B QA1 double adjustable shocks. (Proma Star) The QA1 catalog does not specify the design. Does any body have any experiance with shock fade and QA1 shocks?
Also I am looking at a 26mm sway bar in the rear, should this be a solid sway bar?
